You may have come across videos on YouTube showing individuals starting engines that have been idle for a while. While this engine hasn't been inactive for an extended period, the wiring and ignition system were taken out of the bike and hastily stored in a box.
The motor has been stored on a trolley and covered since it was taken out. It would be beneficial to demonstrate that it is operational before selling it, as I have no use for it.
I sorted through the wiring in the box, found the coils and ignition controller, and had it all plugged back in within a couple of minutes. It wasn't hard as I still had all of the labels on the connections from when I was removing everything from the bike.
The only additional wire required was to ground the ignition coils to the engine.
I removed the spark plugs from the engine, cleaned them, and conducted a test without the plugs installed. All 4 showed strong sparks.
The plugs are back in, a little dribble of fuel into the carburetors and full choke should do the trick.
Let's turn it over and see what happens.
The motor sounds great, with only 44,700 kilometers on the clock, it has no rattles and didn't blow any smoke. This would be a good motor for a restoration project.
