Well, I have just finished the removal of the remaining engine accessories from the bike, but Houston we have a problem!

This is why I recommend testing the operation of existing systems as you go, especially after you have changed, added or removed something.
During the removal of the coils, EMS, and other components, I noticed that the lights were no longer working. So, this is where you start at the beginning. I checked the battery, and it was still putting out 12 volts. I also checked the voltage at the start solenoid, and it was under 12 volts. This can be a common problem with old connections getting high resistance joints and bad contacts.
With this bypassed, I had 12 volts, but it still was not working as I had lost a ground wire. When removing the bracket for the coils, I had disconnected one of the ground wires, and once reconnected, everything worked again. "Success"
Next up we will be removing the instruments from the bike.
