I was able to download a free version of Autodesk Fusion 360 that will give me an accurate look at how the electric motor and batteries will fit into the structure.
The first thing we need to do is locate the centerline of the bike and then measure out from the center to give an accurate location of the engine mounts.
I used a simple combination of set squares and a string line to get an accurate plan and location of the mounting points. It was interesting to find that the front mounting point and the rear mounts were almost 90 degrees from each other, with the front mount hole 5 mm lower than the top rear mount.
Now that we have accurate measurements of available space and fixing points, I can identify the most appropriate motor and batteries that will fit.
Next, we are going to source suitable motors and batteries for the conversion.
